Dust Collection and Noise Control

Dust Collection and Noise Control

One of the major concerns with dust collection is noise control. Air filtration systems and the use of the industrial vacuum can be extremely noisy, to the point where it may decrease productivity and increase aggravation. There are a few things that the experts at Ryvac Engineering can do to decrease the overall noise of a dust collection system.

Dust collection systems need to be located appropriately so that the least amount of noise possible will reach the working area. Dust collection components should not be bolted directly to the frame of a home or business because this will transfer the low decibel sounds directly into the framework of the structure. Muffling the sides of a blower will make a large difference, as this is the area that will cause the most noise.

Automotive undercoatings applied to certain portions of a dust collection system may also be able to reduce the noise coming from the device. Sound deadening materials can also be added to the blower and blower outlet so that the sound that does escape is reduced significantly.
