Cleanroom Maintenance: Sanitation via Filtration

Good cleanroom air quality is the result of thorough cleanroom maintenance. Airborne sub-micron contamination is inevitable. As long as combustible materials are passed through machinery to be refined and reshaped, there will be dust. And, successful dust control is the result of using the right filtration equipment in your cleanroom.

The Importance of Proper Cleanroom Maintenance

According to the organization for Occupational Health & Safety, the issues of proper cleanroom maintenance were first introduced in the early 1920s. The scientists that initiated the study challenged the industry and decried use of brooms and compressed air–from air-tight rooms–while not using an industrial vacuum. They argued that dust would “settle,” even in a compressed room, after sweeping or use of a “regular” vacuum. They concluded that such unsafe conditions require instruments that could perform efficiently in demanding industrial environments.
